Campus Protests: How to handle it

Credit: Yahoo News

What the hell are we doing on college campuses these days?

I’m sure you’ve heard of the recent protest at UC Berkeley.  You haven’t? Well – thousands of Leftists lost their minds, rioted, injured several people, and caused over $100,000.00 in property damage when Milo Yiannopoulos was scheduled to speak on campus. Additionally, my alma mater, Louisiana State University was host to a large protest full of misinformation and apparent flag burning. This is a far cry from the LSU I know — please see the one protester in 2011.

So what do we do about this? Other than educating students with the facts — which isn’t happening these days — we need to focus on instilling the value of PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY in our children. Recognize that the problems you face are yours to solve and you have the power to shape the outcome of your life.  Society is not working against you, but it is YOU that is working against you.  The teachers at these institutions have a responsibility to make students understand that they know very little about the world and that just because your are passionate about something does not mean that you’re right. They should not tolerate the type of behavior and thinking that leads to riots and destruction of property … over and over again.

Moreover we need political leadership that acts like these children are just that ….  children. Here let me show you.

“You who are the adults – This all started when you allowed these children to choose which laws they would obey so long as it was in the name of social protest.”

Couldn’t have said it better myself.

Looks like Trump is trying to channel his inner Reagan. I think reading them the riot act might actually do some good for starters.

Have a great weekend and I’ll be back next week with some good stuff.
